Kitsch by any other name?

I think we had a good morning at Pathway Bible Church. I say "think" because I am not the final Judge of this morning's activities. It is God who searches our hearts and knows our thoughts. I also really want to avoid even the hint of presumption. That said, I think Pathway is starting to grow. Our attendance this morning was up and I think we added and/or are adding families.

We laughed a lot this morning, and I've always thought that's a good thing at church. "Joy of the Lord" and all.
We laughed at Todd. He was today's volunteer to be with the kids during the worship service, and we could hear them next door to the room where we meet. Because of our growth I think he had eight munchkins, the oldest was three, and not all of them were having a great morning. At one point, based on the sounds coming from the room, his wife went to see if he was OK and came back to say Todd was in the corner, curled in the fetal position. Marcie went to help out.

If you come to Sun City you'll quickly notice what we call "house art," that last word used very loosely. I've never seen anything like it in any other place we've lived, at least not to this extent. Of the twelve houses between ours and the corner only four of them don't have some kind of decoration on the front side of the house. These ornamentations fall into several categories. Herewith a sampling:

We'll call the first category flora:
Birds are a favorite theme:
As are reptiles:

Geometric patters show up often:
Some go in the "I dunno" category:
I call this, "Really?"
And then, for those who have trouble deciding exactly what they want, there's "All of the Above"
You especially need to click/enlarge this one, and even at that you won't see everything, like the fake cow's skull with huge marbles for eyes that's up by the front door.
Part of me wants to ring the doorbell and learn what personality creates this scene. I'm guessing they're fascinating people.

D minus 13 and counting.
Our golf game is scheduled for two weeks from today.
Join me in a fortnight of prayer?
