Years ago I read "Bury Me Standing" about the Gypsies - more appropriately referred to as the Roma - of Eastern Europe. The author wasn't the least bit objective. For her, the Roma were unfairly looked down on and mistreated by everyone, and all of their behavior patterns, no matter how aberrant (e.g. lying and cheating were fine so long as the target was non-Roma), were expressions of their unique and valuable culture.
But I enjoyed the book nonetheless for what it taught me about Roma history, culture and life. For example, a Roma wants to be buried in a deep hole in a standing position so that they can enter the next life ready for traveling, not lying down.
Here's a short .pdf of Roma architecture that's mostly pictures. Pretty over the top!
I got up at 4:30 to watch the live telecast of the F1 race from Monaco. Outstanding race! Added to the narrow twisting streets of Monaco was the rain during the middle section of the race that made the streets very slippery. It would terrify me to drive a car that expensive that fast on slick streets. Those guys are amazing.
This afternoon I ripped out the three hibiscus that the rabbits had chewed down to sticks and replaced them with blue something-or-others that I got from Home Depot. The chicken wire surrounds should protect them until they're big enough to survive the assault of the wascaly wabbits. But I'm having felonious thoughts about those critters.
I know I can't use a real gun inside Sun City, but would a good pellet gun take out a rabbit? Getting a shot off wouldn't be a problem because those evil creatures have so little fear. And tossing the carcass out into the empty lot behind us means the coyotes would be more than happy to clean up after me. I just don't know if a pellet gun will do the trick.
I can't really give an honest assessment of this morning. It's Sunday night. I suspect that if a former homiletics prof listened to the sermon he'd find all kinds of things that shouldn't have been done, or should have been done better. He would also remind the preacher that the Holy Spirit is not bound by bad preaching.
And Foundations was good.
Bottom line: we worshiped God by singing praises to him and then listened to him speak to us through his Word. We were reminded that sin enters our life through our own failure to resist the flesh, and that all good things come to us from above.
Tank you, Fadder.

There are pellet gun pistols that propel the pellets with a charged CO2 cartridge. If any pellet gun will do it, these will. I would consult your local independant sporting goods or gun store and ask them what they think.
A friend of mine asked me what we learned at Pathway today. My reply, "We learned about ducks, giraffes and a secret". Interesting conversation followed.
Tank you, Fadder indeed!
Pellets (not BBs) at enough velocity will be more than sufficient if youcan aim properly. Don't aim for the tookus. Head or chest is the best bet. I prefer a pellet rifle for critter control because long-distance aiming is improved and velocity is usually better than handguns bought at the same price.
