"Have you ever listened to someone and wondered, 'Who ties your shoelaces for you?'"

I took a solid nap before the game - the kind where you wake up not sure of what day it is - and was still in bed by 8:30. I came out to my chair about 1:30, went right back to sleep, and didn't wake up until 5:00.
It's now 5:45 and I'm already telling myself not to make any significant decisions are judgments today. Yesterday morning's efforts have me mentally wasted and I'm pretty sure my outlook on life is seriously screwed up.
Which begs the question why I'm writing a blog post where my misaligned thoughts are recorded and posted for eternity in cyberspace. But like I said, my good judgment is temporarily Out of Order.

I think my sermon went well. Pam said it did, but she always says that. I also got good comments from people afterward.
My class...not so much. Too much of my head was already focussed on the sermon. I'm bothered by that but they're a great group, now know why I was off my game, and I'm pretty sure will forgive me for missing the mark.

Speaking of missing the mark, Super Bowl LII (or was it LIII?) was almost 4 hours I'll never get back but with I could. Both the game and the ads were a giant meh. I only heard from two people who liked the game because of the stellar defense displayed. But they're both baseball fans so they are used to a game with no action.

It's now 7 am. So far I've burned my hand putting more wood on the fire and transferred syrup from my plate to the fork to my hand to my keyboard which is now a sticky mess. This day is starting off great!

I just got home. Ate lunch at the office, went from there to the gym, and have been home long enough to get the fire going again. It was 59 when I came in so some heat seemed like a good idea. It was 30 when I left this morning and snowing in town when I got there but it's 40 now. We're supposed to get a dusting overnight and then a pretty dry Tuesday.

I got a surprising amount of work done this morning, especially since I expected to be brain dead. Molly and I met and went over our small group ministry, updating our list of leaders and each groups' members. We continue to fine tune that part of UFC's ministry - an important part IMO.

And I got some nice emails about yesterday's sermon. That's encouraging.

We'll leave in about 2.5 hours for our small group. It seems weird to discuss the sermon I preached.
I may nap between now and then. Walk the dog, feed the goats, put the chickens back in their pen, take a shower, and we're off.
