"When you're dead you don't know you're dead, it's only hard for others. It's the same way when you're stupid."

I'm waiting for the screams of "Believe the accuser!!" from the Dems in D.C. and Virginia.
Sometimes I think a grad degree in hypocrisy is required for election to national office.
Ph.B.S.

Yesterday it was 47 when I got up (inside temp) and today it was 50. The fire I lit three hours ago @ 5 a.m. has it up to 60 in here and the sad thing is that it doesn't feel cold, just cool. We've adjusted. About 10 minutes ago I added more wood and opened the flue some so we should continue to climb.
It's 30 outside.

One of my job responsibilities is the oversight of the small groups at UFC. I think those are an important part of what makes it a "small big church" (my words, not any kind of UFC slogan) so I try to stay on top of how the groups are doing.
Since the end of December we've had three or four groups stop meeting. It happens. Hosts have schedule problems, leaders have job changes, people move away....
But that leaves some people without a group because theirs folded. And new people hear about groups and want to join one. If we're already down that means it's time to recruit leaders and hosts just to stay even, never mind accommodate new people.
So that's been one of the things I've worked on this week. I think I have two new groups ready to go but I'll know for sure when I talk to people at church Sunday. I've got another that will be able to start up in the fall (we take the summer off and they're still getting moved into their brand new house).
It's harder to find hosts than leaders. It's a huge bonus when they're the same, and one of my successes this week fits that description. Super nice and qualified couple expecting their first child in May. And what's really cool is that one of the new couples I hope will attend is also expecting their first the same month.

I got a lot done today. I went into town with Pam and while she was doing the grocery shopping I sat at Dizzy's Donuts for my week's one cheat and a cup of coffee. I also spent the hour-plus writing about a week's worth of Look Out questions. I don't want them just reading words when they do each day's reading (through the Bible in a year) so every morning I email them something to look for in that day's chapters - a verse to underline, a note to write in the margin for next time they're on that page, or....
After we got home and had lunch I cleaned the coop, went to the gym, walked the dog, fed the goats, and brought fire wood around to the front porch.
Oh yeah. I also pulled up the carpet on Sally's driver side floor and discovered there is NO rust there. That means I only have to replace the floor pan on the passenger side. Yay!! So tomorrow I'll order that panel, the adhesive, seam sealer, and maybe the new carpet. I'll have to also get the new shift console and a few other misc. parts before I can start this project.

The TV weather guy said we'll get 1-2" of snow in Eugene tomorrow. If it switches from rain to snow before 6 a.m. we can add and inch to that and if the switchover happens after 10 a.m. we can subtract an inch.
I'm hoping it happens at noon.
