I feel lousy, and that's good news!

To the right you'll see four video frames. Click on the top one and it will open above this blog entry. Just click the "play" icon and enjoy. These guys are good!
I don't know anything about the other three video frames. Either blogspot requires four or I just don't know how to get rid of the other three. So consider this a disavowal of anything in those lower three videos. You're on your own.

I feel like crud today, and I'm glad. I was concerned that the incident on the plane was somehow connected to flying, especially because I felt perfectly fine before it all happened. I attributed yesterday's exhaustion, soreness and unsteadiness to the after-effects of what happened. But by now anything connected with that event should have cleared up. The fact that I have no energy - just feel drained - suggests that I've got some kind of bug.
You know how sometimes, when you get sick, you feel it come on gradually, but at other times you can almost look at your watch and identify the specific moment it hit? I think that's what happened, except that instead of looking at my watch (which I don't wear since I got a cell phone) I took a very up-close look at the floor.
I have an appt. with my doctor's PA (the only one I could get in to see) at 1:15 tomorrow afternoon. I appreciate all the comments I got as a result of my post about what happened, including the people who told me to go see a doctor. I hadn't really planned on it, but was persuaded by all of you. So, your voices were heard. Some even speculated on a possible cause, including one who suggested it could be the result of drinking a Diet Coke before boarding. What?? I did not, in fact have a DC, but if I had I'm pretty sure the whole thing wouldn't have happened. But that's OK, Stacey. I know you only have my best in mind. It's just that attributing it to Diet Coke - ???

We bought an Amaryllis a couple of weeks ago that has finally started to sprout. I'm not sure exactly what God had in mind when he created these things, but aside from their rather startling appearance they are fun to watch grow. I've started a log to track it's growth, since they seem to get noticeably taller every day. At 10:30 this morning it measured 5" from the top of the bulb casing, the brown part, to the top of the bud. I thought it would be fun to post pics and measurements as it grows. So stay tuned for all the excitement!

One of the guys who has indicated he plans to be at the first service (along with his wife) is an excellent guitar player, and has agreed to help us with some worship music that first Sunday. That's a huge help to getting off to a good start. He's not committed to attending indefinitely, and that's appropriate. Anyone who joins us that morning should be prayerfully considering their role, if any, in the effort. But at least we'll have music that first Sunday.

Former Senator George Mitchell has, at the request of baseball commish Bud Selig, been investigating the use of performance enhancing drugs in MLB. His report will be released tomorrow, but word has it that up to 80 players, including some stars, will be named as users. Word also has it that they have an average cap size of 8 and 1/4.

Has anybody else been struck by the fact that the church in Colorado Springs where the weekend shooting took place has armed security guards for their Sunday Services? At first I figured it was one security guard who was carrying w/o authorization but I saw a bit on TV that seemed to indicate at least one other guard was packing. Why? Are their offerings so big that they need guards with guns to protect the morning's take? Or is the preacher that bad?
We don't have plans for security guards, never mind guards packing heat.

Speaking of heat, we're going to get down near freezing tonight. Big news on tonight's local coverage!
We put the electric blanket on the bed.

Men are like parking spaces - the good ones are taken and the rest are handicapped.
