The Seahawks and the Colts both out. Now who do I pull for? Giants, I guess.
I'm bidding two jobs tomorrow, a good thing given the paucity of work lately. I'm to be downtown tomorrow at 8 a.m. (I'll leave here a little after 6) to look at making modifications to a house to accommodate the wife who will be coming home from the hospital in a couple of weeks. She'll be wheelchair bound so they need the bathroom modified as well as some other changes. Then in the afternoon I'm going to the home of a woman who works with Pam at the hospital. They had a cornice made for their bay window but she says it's so bad she wouldn't let her husband put it up. She wants me to look at it to see if it can be fixed or if starting over is the better option. Either way, the wood shop will be a real asset.
In between I'll go to the state offices downtown to turn in the paperwork that will make Pathway Bible Church official with the state of AZ. If I filled it out correctly we should have the certified copy back in a week.
OK, I've been back at this for all of 8 days and it's already happened. I'm disgusted with the preacher.
Attendance (if that word fits at our current size) was down, but we knew it would be. Josh & Aubri went up north for the weekend (her mom watched the kids because Pam worked Th., F. and Sat.). And one of the other couples had obligations this morning. That's OK; doesn't upset me. It's a little tougher with half a handful, but worship and learning don't require a quorum.
The problem was the preacher. He did NOT budget his time well for his sermon, went way too long, and then lost track of time during his lesson and went overtime as a result. Rookie mistake and he's disgusted with himself. It also presumes upon the goodwill of the listeners who have schedules for the rest of the day, not to mention young ones to consider. GRRRRRRRRR
By next Sunday you know the preach will have a clock clearly visible! Maybe the alarm on his cell phone set to go off.
I suggested a little side action for my brothers. They're coming in Tuesday evening and Thursday we go to the Barrett-Jackson auto auction. The list of cars for each day's block are listed, complete with pictures and description. I proposed that we each pick the one vehicle from Thursday's list that we'd like to take home (not like we could ever afford any of them). Then predict the gavel price for that vehicle. The one who comes closest without going over wins....a Coke. (We're a high rolling lot.) I consulted with Pam and we agreed easily:

It's not completely stock; the rear scoops aren't original but they do help cool the engine.
If you're interested you can see all of Thursday's offerings at

(scroll down; click on "view" to see pics, but you'll need to have pop-up blockers turned off. What would be your choice?
