I went to a house where I've done work in the past. Monday I'll go and install 38 cabinet pulls in the kitchen and then wire in a new outlet in the master bath. Isn't more than a day's work, but that's a day more than I've had in too long.
I took the motorcycle to the shop this afternoon to get the gas leak fixed. My research convinced me the problem was two "quick disconnects" that BMW puts into the fuel lines so the gas tank can be easily removed. Why they made them out of plastic is a good question. They break down over time and...leak. By the time I ordered and rec'd replacements, bought the $20 tool required to install them, and spent three hours getting the job done, I'd have about as much time and money invested as having the dealer do it in a fraction of the time. So the job is done.
I get bothered by the build-up of dust on the screen of my laptop. From what I've read these new screens scratch very easily and chemicals pose an even greater risk. But today I discovered the ideal and safe way to clean them. Worth sharing:
Cleaning a laptop screen
Simple and effective.
Knopf is a publishing house established in 1915 and now owned by Random House. I have no idea how you pronounce that, and if I ran Random House I'd come up with a more user-friendly moniker. Pick almost anything.
Rumor has it that Shaq may be traded to the Phoenix Suns. Isn't that like paying a lot of money for a '48 Packard? Big, heavy, and always breaking down.
It's fun laughing at idiots.
Stupid is as Stupid Does
Super Tuesday is underway. Dr. Dobson has said that if McCain is the Republican nominee he won't cast a vote in the Presidential election for the first time since he was old enough to vote.
Now there's a great example to set for other Christians re. being good citizens.
More to the point, so what if Dobson refuses to vote? Are evangelicals so thick that they are incapable of thinking for themselves, and instead fall in line behind a radio personality? Nobody, not even the estimable Dr. Dobson, is so right so much of the time that we should unquestionably follow his example. Being a Christian does not mean checking your brain at the door, including at the door of Focus on the Family.
Of all the people I am glad I'm not today, Roger Clemmens goes high on the list. He gave almost five hours of testimony under oath to congressional lawyers. This is the first time his denials (assuming that's what he did) place him in legal jeopardy if it turns out he's lying.
This Sunday we're going to be in Genesis 16 during the worship hour. What a narrative! Try to find a good guy in this one! So what's the point? Sure, it's fascinating reading, but what does God want us to take away from this chapter?

Craig,
Cleaning your laptop screen can be done with a special spray that is sold with HD LCD or plasma TV's. Otherwise, you should never use any type of substance on it but a damp cloth.
As far as cloth goes, you can buy 'microfiber' cleaning rags to use. These are made of finely split plastic threads which are literally microscopic, resulting in a cloth that is technically unabrasive. (Nothing is completely unabrasive because the amount of abrasion depends upon the intrument used in measuring how smooth or rough something is.)
Microfiber cloth is also very good to use for dusting because it 'soaks' the dust up like a dry sponge. This allows the dust and dirt to be held amidst the fibers instead of inside the fiber itself, which is how natural fibers work.
Just my 2 cents.
