The difference between a boyfriend and a husband? A: 30 pounds

These aren't Photoshopped. The guys name is Kurt Wenner and he does 3-D sidewalk art. Click to see them in a larger format.
I've been buying gas for Stealth Reliabity at the gas station between our house and the freeway, but Pam got me a $75 cash card so I could buy it at Costco. I put that $75 worth in this afternoon and got the needle to 3/4 of a tank. I haven't had the needle up that far in a couple of months!
The good news is that I paid $3.91 instead of the $4.15 out on the street.

Turns out Big Brown doesn't deliver.

But Ana Ivanovic sure does! Goodness!
I'll be up early tomorrow - my normal Sunday routine - so I'll get to see the first part of the Nadal/Federer match. But I'll miss the F1 race from Montreal. It starts at 10:00 a.m. local time.
The Lakers will win big tomorrow night. Sorry, Mauri.

Pam worked today so I went to lunch at Chick-Fil-A with the kids by myself. Michelle was missing because she's back visiting her family in Michigan and Josh had to work today, too.
On the way back from lunch I tuned into to the local classical music station. Saturday afternoons they broadcast a taped performance of an opera and interview the principals during the two intermissions. I enjoy the music and find the interviews interesting.
I tuned in during what I later figured out was the middle of the first act. After about two minutes I said out loud, "That's Handel." I recognized his style. Sure enough, it was his opera, Julius Ceasear.
I enjoy playing that game with myself - trying to identify the composer by listening to his music. I'm not real good at it, but I do OK so long as it's not somebody too obscure. And that's because my parents raised us with classical music. We heard it from the Magnavox and participated in choir and chorale at school. I also played in the orchestra in Jr. and Sr. High.
Like any genre of art, there's classical music I like and some I can't abide. Most string quartet music drives me crazy, and the tone poems of the 20th century don't make a bit of sense, IMHO. But I'm glad my folks instilled in me an appreciation for classical music in all its forms, including opera.
My parents taught me classical music and my daughter turned me on to Shaggy.
