Entropy - It's not what it used to be

From the vocab department:

Gender is only used to describe words - nouns, adjectives, etc. - in languages that have masculine and feminine forms. So, for example, Latino is the masculine gender and Latina is the feminine gender.
Sex is correctly used for all animate objects. So humans don't have a male and female gender; it should be male or female sex. And there can be no gender bias, only sex bias.

Good is an adjective and modifies nouns. Good bread. Good weather.
Well is an adverb and modifies verbs. "He did well." (Not, "He did good.")
But verbs of feeling take good as their modifier. So, "I feel good" is correct.
This same rule applies to bad and badly. Thus, "He made me feel bad," is correct as opposed to "He made me feel badly."

A gourmet is someone who enjoys eating fine food. A gourmet cook enjoys cooking fine food.
A gourmand is someone who enjoys eating fine food in excess, a glutton.

Juxtapose
One of the largest churches in the Phoenix area is Christ's Church of the Valley, about 10 miles from our house. But since their name is such a mouthful they are usually referred to, and refer to themselves as CCV. They have a very distinctive logo which you can't go a day without seeing repeatedly on the rear window of vehicles all over the Phoenix area. They really are a huge church.
Yesterday I saw a mini-van with the CCV logo on the right side of the rear window. On the left side were two logos, one for the Arizona State University Sun Devils and another for a local high school's team, The Diabolos.

Just a Pose
Seems this Mormon guy is in trouble with the church hierarchy. He's put out a calendar titled "Men on a Mission" that shows other Mormon guys who have just returned from their 2-year church mission assignments in modest poses but without the white shirt and tie. Not so coincidentally they are all ripped. The calendar's creator has been summoned to Salt Lake City to meet with church leaders over the calendar. Apparently the calendar doesn't fit the wholesome image the church wants to portray.
Hey, they could have been pictured in their underwear.

Speaking of photos
Here's a site with a whole bunch of cool pics you can download free and use as wallpaper. Many link to a site with more of that type.

I didn't see any of Mormon missionaries in there.
