Karl Marx - Sharing is Caring

I used to know about Tesla Coils but I've forgotten exactly how they work. I just remember seeing them in demonstrations on TV. This guy decided to take a demonstration to a pretty scary extreme.

I went for my Long Slow Distance ride this morning. About half way into it I began feeling some pain in my nether regions that only got worse as the ride progressed. The thing about a ride, or a run, is that there's no quitting. The only way to get home is to keep going. By the time I got home...Ouch! I'm going to try raising the height of the seat to see if that shifts weight more to my hands and less on the seat.

After the ride I headed into town to work at S & M's. The original plan was to remove and replace their kitchen faucet, but the old one was rusted and wouldn't come loose with as much torque as we could get on it from underneath. The next step was to take the sink out in order to get a wrench in a better position. But someone thought that as long as the sink was out we might as well install a new one. (Love you, dear!) Alas, the new sink had deeper wells, which put the garbage disposal lower, which meant the pipes which used to run under the disposal now ran smack into it.
They say that every plumbing job requires three trips to the hardware store. So far I can attest to the accuracy of that axiom.

Have you heard the news story about John Edwards? Probably not, because only one national news organization has reported it. The National Enquirer broke it and only Fox has pursued it.
John Edwards was photographed entering a Beverly Hills hotel at 9:45 p.m. and going to the room of a woman who has an infant. He left that room at 2:30 a.m., but when confronted with Enquirer photographers he hid in a hotel restroom until a security guard could escort him out.
A former Edwards staffer said she wasn't surprised by the episode, and reports are that Edwards has been seen with this woman in the past. Of course suspicion is that the woman's child is his but so far there's no proof of that and Edwards won't talk about it.
The more interesting question is why the national press isn't pursuing this. They certainly got all over the story about a Senator playing footsie in a Minneapolis airport. And he was a guy none of us had heard of from Idaho, not someone who sought his party's nomination for President.
Bias?

Long day today = short post tonight. I do much better with Sunday's activities if I got a good night's sleep the night before.

I'll be Bach.
