misc. weirdness for a Sunday evening

There are some very skilled digital artists out there. From time to time I come across a video clip of a digital artist at work. Here's the best I've ever seen. I have no idea how it works because I don't know Photoshop. But the way he adds layers, whatever the purpose, obviously works! I don't think there can be any question that it can be both digital and art in the fullest sense of that term.

July is the hottest month of the year here, with the daily high averaging 108. So people go on vacation in mid-summer to escape the heat like people in Michigan go on cruises in February. Add that to a holiday weekend, and our attendance was affected. The rest of the month will be more of the same - families headed to cooler climes for vacation. But that's just fine; family vacations build good memories. We still talk about the tent camping trips we took when the boys were young, recalling things like baths standing in a 5-gallon bucket (the boys) - (when they were small), taking free factory tours in cities along the coast and the required visit to the fish ladder in Ballard.
And I think we honored God and his Word this morning. We'll do that each Sunday this month, Deo Volente.

Tomorrow I'll put on a second coat of mud and install 8' of base cabinets, a counter top and a sink. I'll also be making those phone calls to see if a doorway needs to be an inch wider than it is. So if there's no post tomorrow night you'll know it's because I'm over in the corner, laying in the fetal position whimpering about how I have to rip out the drywall and metal studs to accomplish that.

I caught the first set and two games of this morning's Wimbledon final before we had to leave for church. I wanted Federer to get his sixth - as I get older I find myself pulling for the older competitor - but from all accounts it was a great match. McEnroe said it was the best match he'd ever seen.

I almost always feel like junk food on Sunday nights. Anybody have a box of chocolate donut holes?
