I tried drowning my troubles but I can't get my mother-in-law near the pool.

This is what happens when you buy your equipment at K-Mart.

And this...well, it's pretty self-explanatory.

I gotta admit, when I saw this game came from Liz I had my doubts. But it's pretty cool. Give it a try. And don't stress over the instructions at the beginning. Once you get into it the game is pretty intuitive.

I spent two and a half hours this afternoon on a job that should have taken 30 minutes.
If you have an older American Standard toilet it has a very funky flapper mechanism that they wisely discontinued years ago. That flapper, which is really a 2" diameter horizontal rubber tube, attaches to a "flush valve" - the plastic assembly that goes between the tank and the toilet bowl - that is also unique to older American Standard toilets. So there will be no "universal fit" parts here!
Oh yeah, the 30-year old shutoff valve also doesn't work.
BUT...the job is done and it wasn't leaking, at least when I left. And I've learned more than I ever wanted to know about old American Standard toilets. So if you have one go bad, I'm your man!
Wait a minute.
If you have one of those, and it goes bad...call someone else.

Pam got a toothache a couple of days ago. This morning when she got up the right side of her face was twice the size of the left side and she was feeling the pain. A squeeze-in appointment at the dentist and she's scheduled for a root canal next week.

Joe Biden, huh? Not exactly a huge surprise. Nor a big news story.

Tomorrow night is our fantasy football draft and I haven't done a bit of research. But if past years, when I've poured over stats and advice columns, are any indication, that should improve my chances for success.
I get first pick because I finished in last place a year ago. Any suggestions? Normally your first pick is a RB but I'm thinking QB.

The question is, why?

The plan is for a 35-40 mile ride in the morning, so I'm headed to bed. I had planned more deep & insightful comments but they're just going to have to wait.
G'night Irene.
