This headline from CNN.com: "Germans perform world's first double-arm transplant."
I can't for the life of me figure out why anyone would want their arms on the opposite side. Your thumbs would point out, for Pete's sake.
Must-See TV - starting tonight. If they had asked, I'd have been more than happy to join them!
I left the house at 6 a.m. and the temp was already 90 degrees. The bum pain started about mile 14 and got progressively worse through the rest of the ride. This evening it's no better. But at lunch today Steve showed me a stretch he was given to do while marathon training that might help.
At about mile 17 I heard a voice behind me, and did the rest of the ride with Otis. He lives in Surprise, a few miles from our house. When we got close to our place I asked if he wanted to stop in to fill his water bottles and we ended up visiting for another 30 minutes or so. Before he left we exchanged phone numbers and will try to hook up for another ride sometime. He's a decade or more younger than I and riding longer distances, but riding with someone else helps me keep pushing instead of slacking off toward the end of a ride.
Dr.: "I've got bad news, Mr. Anderson. You have Alzheimer's and cancer."
Mr. Anderson: "Well, at least I don't have cancer!"
Tomorrow we'll look at James 5:17-18, our last in this series through James. If God is sovereign and works out everything according to his will (Eph. 1:11) what's the point in praying? Does prayer only change us, or does it change what happens? Does God answer prayer?
F1 race early tomorrow morning on SpeedTV if you're up. (I will be!)
I haven't done very much with this one yet. In fact, I haven't gotten past the training session yet. My wireless mouse was erratic. Or the mouser was erratic. It says there's violence involved, so if you find that beyond the training session it gets exceedingly gory I claim total ignorance.

Thursday is our anniversary. I am absolutely determined to remember to get a card between now and then. It's also Megan's birthday. Our first grandchild was born on our anniversary. Pretty cool, huh?
So does her b'day help me remember our anniversary? Or the other way around?
A: neither.
