I think we met in a past life - and you were a dipstick then, too.

My Next Car
Factory Five is a company that makes kit cars. But don't think fiberglass bodies over VW chassis. They are probably the premier kit car company in the U.S. (world?) and specialize in Cobra replicas built on a Mustang chassis. Because the power-to-weight ratio is so hot those things fly!
SEMA is the big show in Vegas that introduces new products to the automotive market and it's running this week. Factory Five is introducing this kit at the show. It's an homage to a '33 Ford Coupe, and like their Cobras it has a BIG engine, a lightweight body and looks SO cool.
I don't have and never will have the combination of money, space, tools and time to build one of these, but I can dream.

I think this pic is an illustration in search of a sermon. Probably goes with the passage in the gospels about the person who seeks to gain life and loses it vs. the person willing to lose his life and gaining it. This guy is looking so hard for wild life that he's oblivious to its presence right behind him.

Had a good day today. Did some church stuff until about mid morning and then went for a run. I decided to add some distance this morning and ran with my MP3 player to distract me. I listened to my Napster playlist which includes all kinds of music - Aretha, Chris Tomlin, B.B. King, Springsteen - virtually every genre. (NO country western, but then I did say music.)
Komm Susser Tod by Bach is a personal favorite, but when you're on the last mile of a newly-lengthened route it's not especially motivating.
Komm Susser Tod is German for Come Sweet Death.

Learn something every day. Today I learned that chugging a 20 oz. of Diet Coke right before heading out the door for a longer run is problematic in several ways.

And my more rigorous swim workout went better today than yesterday.

Consistent with The Law of Unintended Consequences, all of this exercise means my slacks are really baggy, especially from behind. I need a new wardrobe. Is it too late to run for V.P.?

You've undoubtedly seen videos of bad crashes at air shows. So you gotta watch this. Surprise ending!

Want to speculate about his pants?!

I'm going into a news-free zone tomorrow. I'll get up Wednesday morning and find out who our next President is. After a 22-month campaign (yes, it's been just short of two years) I need a break, especially from all the hype of tomorrow's coverage.

Tomorrow (Tuesday) our Pathway mailing will go to the Post Office, all 10,700 pieces. It will arrive in homes between Wed. and Fri. The suspense builds.

You probably heard about Circuit City's plans to close over 150 of their stores. That includes all of their stores in the Phoenix market. I told Pam this undoubtedly presents the ideal opportunity to get a flat screen Hi Def TV. She agreed, with that "yes, I suppose hypothetically that's true" tone of voice.

That's it for tonight. Nothing provocative or thoughtful. Just Monday Shorts.
Deal with it.
I'm going back to MNF.

I'm not a runner, per se, so I think Komm Susser Tod is exactly how I would feel at the end of a run.
