Pam's xB is dressed for the season.
The Cardinals beat the Rams this afternoon and clinched the division championship, the first time since 1975. I don't think they'll do well in the playoffs and Kurt Warner probably won't get the MVP award some people think he might. But it's nice to feel like AZ has a real football team.
Call it schadenfreude, but I'm pulling for the Lions to pull off their "perfect" season.
The preacher had one sermon in his head, but a different one came out his mouth. They bore certain similarities to one another but he liked the head version better. Some weeks I wish we could have a do-over.
Pathway is growing. The transition from visitor to attender can be ambiguous, but I think we've seen that progression in two cases. And in the process we've broadened our demographic - a good thing. That said, if some of our kids hadn't been missing the 1st grade and under group would have numbered something like 15 this morning.
I haven't said this in weeks so I'm not feeling the least bit guilty of repetition.
The people are the best part.
This morning was a case in point.
I've been reading this book on swimming, and although I didn't get to the pool much last week because of feeling sick I did have a couple of opportunities to work on the first drill. A klutz in the water, however, needs more than a couple of opportunities to master even the first step in the system.
Steve & Michelle ordered the video that goes with the book and loaned it to me yesterday. This afternoon I watched the segments on the first three drills, the segments that parallel the reading I've done so far. Then I went to the pool.
Cautiously optimistic! It's counter-intuitive that to learn good swimming technique you start by learning to float properly on your back, but after working deliberately through this much of the guy's system I can see how it happens. I'm sensing just enough progress that I'm motivated to keep at it. Wasn't sure that would happen.
I really love this time of year, with all the wonderfully sweet Christmas specials they run during prime time. The animated shows are my favorites!
Excuse me - I'm going to go back to the bathroom and hurl.
