"Ah, Mozart! He was happily married - but his wife wasn't." - Victor Borge
Whew! What a day.
The Steelers just beat our Cardinals in the Super Bowl. We're disappointed but since nobody expected us to get past the first round of the playoffs I don't think anyone here is too bummed. And they made a real game of it with a very good second half. Warner had a particularly good game. Will he retire? Or come back for the Cards? Hey, he could go to Detroit, but that would be like retirement just without the fun.
I feel good about the morning we had at Pathway. Increased numbers are NOT the measure of God's blessing, but they are a blessing from God. It's great to have new people who come back a second week and bring someone with them.
I'm pretty sure everyone will be back next week. We'll be talking about the Song of Songs in the second hour.
Rob & Leslie leave tomorrow morning, and in order to make their 8:00 flight with the recommended 90-minute lead time we'll have to leave our house at about 5:30. We've really enjoyed having them here and Leslie singing for us in church this morning was a special treat.
Our temps here are going to get into the high 70's and low 80's for the rest of the week. Tomorrow I'm meeting Josh W. and we're going on a motorcycle ride together. Haven't decided where yet but it will involve tight turns and grins. The desert has turned almost lush with growth and we're just a few weeks away from the annual burst of wildflowers. Great time to live in AZ.
Being a pastor is a special privilege.
Yes, people are the best part, all the time.
