OUCH!

I changed the oil and filter in the BMW this afternoon. Monday morning I'll take it to the shop and have a valve adjust and throttle body sync done. That will bring all service up to date so I can turn it over to the buyer immediately thereafter with a clear conscience. I can't guarantee that something won't break 100 miles from now, but that should be an understood risk with any used vehicle. I will have done my part.

My Michigan peeps are scheduled to get a major dump of the white stuff over the weekend. Sorry, guys.
In light of your impending misfortune you might find this historic video interesting. It's from the archives of Ford, and I think that's Henry driving the machine. Cool video, and I wonder why it never caught on. I also wonder why they used a Chevy at that one point in the demonstration.

A-Rod is apparently not a big fan of the bard. As he should have expected, reporters went digging after his news conference two days ago, and that "come clean" session, coming on the heels of two interviews that made him look like a liar, has only made him look worse. More equivocation, and more falsehoods. What was he thinking??

One of the local stations did a news story this evening about choosing a good summer camp for your kids. We all went to our church's camp every summer. Got dropped off Sunday afternoon and picked up Saturday morning. But as I watched this segment I realized it was about sending your kids to camp for the summer - the whole thing. Nothing about that sits well with me. As a parent I can't imagine sending my kids away for almost three months. I would have missed them way too much, we would have missed fun times together, and I wasn't going to trust anyone to parent my kids for that long without any influence from mom & dad. How do parents do that? And what message does it send the kids? Or am I off base here?

A cop pulled over a semi just north of our house for an equipment violation. Something prompted him to search the truck where he found 1,400 pounds of marijuana, with a street value of $2.1 million.
The marijuana was hidden behind the truck's normal cargo, frozen Jenny Craig meals.
No wonder so many people sign up for that program.

We're thinking about dumping our land line phone and just using our cell phones, so I've been keeping track of who calls us on our house phone. So far this week it's all been sales calls and my mother-in-law.
