I'm really not weird, just excessively unique.

I want to know the story behind this picture. That was not a slow-speed impact!

We had a good morning at Pathway, at least in the preacher's opinion. It was great to look out and see the Tysons, here on Spring Break from Michigan. That would be the Michigan where Pam is visiting her mom now, the place where it's going to snow tonight and tomorrow. In April.

I'm sorry; I digress.
We're trying something different with the kids because we have SO many preschoolers. The oldest of them are in the worship service for the song portion. So far it's working well. The kids do fine and it helps the adults working with the youngest of the kids maintain their sanity a little longer.

This afternoon Pathway's web site got the latest of its upgrades. You can click on "Listen and Download Messages" and either download them (doh!) for playing at your convenience on your player, or play them right from the site. But they changed the player so that it begins playing almost immediately, and it does so in a separate player window. That means you can leave the Pathway site for other internet sites and still listen to the message. This morning's message is already uploaded.
ALSO...just below that "Listen & Download" link is the "Read Our Blog" link. I'm now going to post blog entries there. No, don't worry. It will be OK. I won't post the kind of addled and irrelevant material you see here. This will be devotional musings, news, prayer requests, the occasional picture...things of general interest re. Pathway Bible Church. I won't post there daily like I do here, but frequently. Check it out!

North Korea was told, "Do not launch that rocket!" North Korea launched the rocket. President Obama said that was something that could not go without a response and the U.N. Security Council met in emergency session.
Nothing happened.
Russia and China, both permanent members of the Security Council, will block any action against North Korea, a nation with which they both have significant economic ties.
So exactly what is the value of the Security Council? I can't remember the last time they acted together, even against a member nation that violated the U.N. Charter. Iran is the other case in point.

Sonic has very good bugers, and their shakes are good, too. (Didn't feel like cooking tonight.)

This afternoon I watched Louisville beat Oklahoma in the first game of the women's Final Four. One of the OK starters said at the beginning of the season that she would give back her full-ride athletic scholarship if they didn't win the national championship. Total value: $64,000.
I hope she has a job after graduation because she's got a hefty bill to pay.
Now I've got the other game on - Stanford vs. UConn, a team that hasn't lost a game all season. In fact, the last team to beat them was Standford in last year's Final Four. Good game so far.

The arrested a guy from Phoenix at the Arizona/Mexico border this morning. They pulled his truck aside as one of the vehicles they choose at random for a search. The dogs went crazy. He was carrying a load of six large paintings in frames, but between the canvas and the frame of these paintings he'd hidden 90 pounds of pot worth $153,000.
Next time you see a painting of Elvis on velvet for $18,000 you'll know why.

I have a 6:30 a.m. flight to Seattle tomorrow. I can't help but think about the same flight 18 months ago that ended with being carried off the plane in Las Vegas and transported to the emergency room of one of the city's hospitals. After lots of tests and visits to a variety of doctors their best guess is that I had an episode of vasovagal syncope (rapid drop in blood pressure that leads to unconciousness) caused by dehyrdration. I will be VERY hydrated when I get on that plane tomorrow! That was not an experience I want to repeat!

My folks have wireless internet at their house so I think I'll be able to post each night. But if I miss one it's because the routine isn't normal.
I have to be out the door headed to Steve's place a little before 4 a.m. so he can have me to the airport by 5:00. I'm not sure going to bed makes a lot of sense, but I don't want to fall asleep on the plane. It was right after waking up on the last flight that I had my problem. So I'm going to finish up some packing, set the alarm for 0-dark-thirty and hit the hay.
Tomorrow night from the Emerald City
