Ouch?OK, so David Carradine didn't commit suicide. The real story may be worse.
We had a terrific eat pool party this morning. Not everyone could come and we still had a good group. And the best part was a pool swarming with preschoolers, splashing and having a great time. I can't help but think ahead 10-12 years when these kids are teenagers in a youth group together. Friends from childhood, growing into young Christian adults together.
With some sermons pacing is more critical than others, and tomorrow's is one of those. If I'm going to get through everthing I'll have to keep moving at a brisk pace. It's not an exegetically tricky passage (1 Cor. 12:12-31) so if I keep things moving we should be OK.
In Foundations (second hour) we'll move into the second chapter of Esther. The first chapter serves as an introduction to the story by explaining how King Xerxes came to be in the market for a new queen. We worked through that last Sunday. As we go through chapter two tomorrow several issues present themselves. Should Esther have participated? Was Mordecai correct to tell her to hid her ethnicity? Is this a story of heroes and heroines or people behaving badly?
Did you see the Google logo today? 25th anniversary of Tetris.
It's a commercial, but it's still fun:
3 Redneck Tenors
Short post, but it's Saturday night, my head is wrapped up in tomorrow's activities, I have to be up and out early (couldn't set up this afternoon) and it's time for ICE CREAM!
See you in 24.
