"The two most common elements in the universe are hydrogen and stupidity." - Harlan Ellison

RV?

Someone sent me a picture via email today. On my PC it would have opened using the Microsoft Picture Viewer, but since I'm now using a Mac I opened iPhoto for the first time. When first opened all the iSoftware offers a series of video tutorials beginning with an overview.
Wow!
I learned that iPhoto not only views and arranges pictures it will also do the standard photo editing tasks. When downloaded to the hard drive iPhoto arranges them chronologically by the date they were taken. I didn't know that a time stamp is included in virtually all photos taken on a digital camera.
But wait! There's more!
Did you know that some cameras have a GPS chip in them that imbeds the photo's location in the image? So iPhoto can also locate the pics on a map using pins to place them anywhere in the world based on that GPS data.
But wait! There's more.
iPhoto also includes facial recognition software. If I select Caedon's face and tell it to do so, iPhoto will memorize his face and then search all the faces in all my pics. Then I can call up all pics that include Caedon.
This is almost enough to turn me into a picture taker. ("Photographer" sounds like someone who knows what they're doing.) My first-generation digital camera, however, certainly doesn't have a GPS chip and likely doesn't date stamp.

I decided to start with the easiest solution, so this morning before I left I shortened the throttle return spring on Gerta's carb a little bit more. It's better but not right. The next step is to adjust the screw that rests on the step cam. After that it's the choke and/or the mixture screw. I WILL get to the bottom of this. But even with a tendency to diesel she's running strong.

A day late, but cool:
Happy Father's Day

A blonde arrives at work crying uncontrollably. Her boss asks her what's wrong and she tells him that her mother has just died. He encourages her to go home but she insists that being at the office will give her something to do, a distraction. Later that morning she has settled down, but early afternoon she is once again sobbing. The boss asks her what happened.
Through her sobs she replies that her sister just called and her mother died, too.

The sheer number, never mind the brutality of the Iranian forces may quell the demonstrations. The people recognize the potential for a massacre by a Revolutionary Guard without conscience.
There is talk about a work stoppage. People just refuse to go to work.
As most husbands know, the passive aggressive approach is extremely effective.

A sermon titled "Summum Bonum" (Greatest Good) is from 1 Cor. 13.

This afternoon I typed out the first draft of a new directory for Pathway. Last time I did one I used lots of space and didn't fill the page. This time I scrunched and needed to move onto the second page. And I'm missing some.
That was fun.

I was disappointed that Phil didn't win the U.S. Open. It would have been a great story. But in the grand scheme of things Amy's recovery is a far higher priority. The good news is that Phil understands that and is going to take a break from golf while she goes through treatment. And it was great to see the way the fans reacted to him as he moved along the course. Moving.

I'm crashing. I really want to stay up for The Closer but I'm not sure I'm going to make it to the end of Antiques Road Show.

Given the geographical setting, I'd say RV minus the "recreation."

As pictures include an aging Caedon, do they still have effective facial recognition?
