The announcer said the Knicks kept making untimely mistakes. Is there such a thing as a timely mistake?
The headline read: “Woman attacks, topples Pope.” I read it as: “Woman attacks topless Pope.”
I worked on my sermon and the bulletin all morning and spent much of the afternoon out in the garage working on the cabinet doors. I used the router and a rabbet bit to cut the recess in the back side of the frames that receives the bead board paneling. Not without incident. A router bit spins very, very fast. So if a bearing comes off it’s going to be a high speed missile. And if the bit slips out of the chuck...well, you’ve got at least one frame that needs replacing.
I have such a negative response to some actors and performers that I just can’t, or more accurately won’t watch them. Barbra Streisand is an in-your-face liberal who speaks with open disdain for conservatives, and she’s a prima dona. Alec Baldwin is a jerk, and most of us wish he had moved to Canada like he threatened. I don’t care how talented they are, their off-screen personas are so irritating that I can’t get past it to enjoy work.
For the most part I don’t care about a performer’s political views or private life. But there comes a point...maybe when they insist on pushing it on me.
Do you react that way to performers?
This evening we went in to have dinner with Josh & Aubri and the kids. Pam made a really good beef stew and fruit kabobs. After dinner the grandkids opened their gifts, we visited for a little bit and then came home. I think we were all tired. They’d certainly had a long day.
So here we sit watching a little TV and drinking our hot chocolate. But this is Sun City; anything past 9 p.m. constitutes staying up late.
One last time:
Merry Christmas to all, and to all a goodnight!

I'm gonna pretend you didn't just say that about Barbra.
I'm NOT going to pretend you didn't say that or any other nastiness about Barbra. You just don't have a clue as to the greatness and magnificence of her talent. Too bad for you. Your loss.
