I really wanted to be rich but I've had to settle for just being extremely good looking.

Anybody missing a limb? The sheriff’s dept. says off-roaders discovered a severed leg northeast of town. It’s too decomposed to tell race or gender so take a look at your shoes, and if one of them isn’t attached to anything contact the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.

I read they’ve now relaxed the rule, but what was the purpose of requiring fliers to stay in their seats for the last hour of all flights? Are terrorists told to wait until the end of the flight before setting their pants on fire? Maybe that’s so they can get the free peanuts - last meal sort of thing.

Al and I have a game we sometimes play right before I take him out for his walk, a sort of hide and seek chase. Our house has a “circle” and I run the kitchen side while he goes through the living room. We meet at one end and run back to the other. It’s cool to see a big Greyhound cover 15’ in two strides, turn in an instant and go the other way just as fast. However, in making that pivot yesterday he seems to have given himself a rug burn on the pads of his left rear foot. We had to clean up spots of blood on the tile and a couple on the carpet. Oops.

I’m on a roll. All the tasks at the rental went smoothly this morning. This has happened for the last two or three jobs. It may be time for me to tackle that brain surgery gig.

The pressure seems to be building in Iran as protests continue despite a rather severe reaction from the regime. Are we nearing a tipping point?

As a one-time cellist, the Bach cello piece used in the American Express commercials used to be one of my favorites. But those ads have almost ruined it for me. To hear a small section that is really a chopped and glued-together mashup over and over and over again is too much.

It’s that time of year. I’m working on a list of lists for 2009. Possibilities include:
  • 136 dumbest things I said this year (I had to draw the line somewhere)
  • 5 biggest FAIL’s besides Tiger Woods
  • 2 best examples of non-partisan leadership from govt. officials (you’re right; I’m probably stretching things with this one)
  • xx top Seahawks highlights. (We’ll set the total number as soon as we find the first one.)

Your suggestions?

Time for some MNF. I’m also planning on watching the American Masters profile of Louisa May Alcott on PBS tonight. I heard the author of the book on which that program is based and it sounded pretty interesting.
Did you play the card game “Authors” when you were a kid? That was a fun game that taught me a lot about authors and their works. They should bring that one back.

My mom gave that card game to one of my boys for Christmas a few years ago. It is still brand new. I'm sure if you want it they would be happy to "regift" it to you.
