Solid, liquid, gas - they all matter.

Add to the normal Sunday night exhaustion the effects of a cold and I'm conscious, but just barely. Between the coffee with breakfast and the Diet Coke at lunch (with a fill-up before I left for home) I consumed too much caffeine to take my normal Sunday afternoon nap. I just talked to Pam on the phone and told her I'd be going to bed on Michigan time.

Speaking of time, I've been doing pretty well lately, but I went 5 minutes over on my sermon this morning. That's going to kill the grade. Points deductions start at 2 minutes.

Have you been following the Tiger saga? I haven't paid real close attention but I did hear the program "The Business of Sports" on NPR yesterday driving home from the airport. One of the regular guests - a guy whose name I don't recall - wrote the first book on Tiger back when he was a 19-year old phenom. "Watch this guy; he's something special."
He said yesterday that Tiger's womanizing and partying was the worst kept secret on the tour, and his handlers have lived in fear of this day. They've worked very hard to keep his activities quiet and preserve his image.
"Be sure your sins will find you out."

The game is about to start - Kurt Warner vs. Brett Favre. The Sun City Bowl.

We're supposed to get some pretty significant rain tomorrow. They have a blizzard warning for the mountains north of here and we're going to get rain through Tuesday. But I've learned that a forecast of rain doesn't necessarily mean anything in the desert. So the van is loaded with all my tools and a stack of lumber, plus a 32" pre-hung steel door. The plan is to head into Matt & Marcie's tomorrow morning to build a section of fence with a gate, install a door on an exterior storage room, and put some weather stripping around the front door. The list also includes installing a new sprinkler timer and some exterior lighting, but those come later.

If it does rain I'll start on the cabinet doors for our kitchen. I got all the wood to make the frames but have to take it down to the wood shop to cut it to the correct dimensions. Then home to begin assembly.

And if I don't feel like either of those I'll watch Gran Torino, the current Netflix movie. I like Clint Eastwood and it's a movie Pam doesn't care to see. I like watching movies on my laptop screen with earbuds.

Early in the first quarter. The Cardinals have a fumble and the Vikings have a touchdown. Is this a sign that I should just pack it in and go to bed?

Gran Torino is, in my opinion, the best Clint Eastwood movie. I bet you can figure out why I think that.
