I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

Steve Jobs unveiled the iPad today.
Last time a tablet caused this much stir it was blue.
Some have suggested the team assigned to name this product could not have included any women. It's being referred to as the iTampon.

The President is giving the State of the Union Address.
We're watching the Australian Open. If this weren't on it would be Magnum P.I. reruns.
Is there anything more meaningless yet more analyzed than this piece of politicking?

I got a final coat of paint on the cabinet doors this afternoon, an easier process once they're in place. Pam either likes them or is doing a very good job of massaging her husband's ego.

I spent most of the morning studying for Sunday's message, which will explore 1 Tim. 2:1-7. So many options here. I used to insist that my students preach bullets, not buckshot. That is, a sermon should have one point or thesis, and all parts of the sermon should derive from or point to that point. In homiletics it's called the proposition - a simple declarative sentence. This passage is so theologically and practically dense that it could yield a half dozen sermons, including the role of govt., the Christians response to govt., the power of prayer, the breadth of the atonement, the deity of Christ, prayer in corporate worship, Paul's apostolic ministry...
OK, maybe more than six.
I've got between now and noon Friday to decide which bullet I'll load in Sunday's gun.
But as any hunter will tell you, loading and firing doesn't mean hitting your target.

Listened to Schubert on the iPod as I ran. Made the run both physically and mentally calming. I still don't have the mileage base to get into the runner's zone but it will come.

Working in town tomorrow morning. Then home to get things ready for our Michigan guests who arrive early afternoon Friday.

Pam brought home a cinnamon roll for my dessert. It will go quite nicely with another can of Diet Coke. Then an early bedtime.
