Thankfully, Oklahoma is done for the year. So this guy has gone back into his closet.Whew! Busy day that started early and still has plenty of tasks that have to be completed before bedtime. My flight leaves at 7 a.m. tomorrow which means leaving the house around 4:30. Should I even bother going to bed?
The swelling is down some so I'm optimistic it will be gone before I hit the folks' front door. If not my mother will make a fuss over it. "Mother's are like that; yeah, they are."
I should care about the BCS game tonight but even I'm nearly at the saturation point. I didn't realize until I heard it yesterday that there are only four BCS bowl games. The rest are "unofficial."
Normally Paul and I work on curriculum on Tuesdays but this week it got shifted to Thursday. We each go through four chapters at a time on our own, and then compare notes during a Skype conversation. I don't know what was wrong with me when I wrote lessons 13 through 16 but what normally takes us a little over an hour took over two this morning. And I have a ton of editing to do as a result. I'll start tomorrow morning in between check-in and boarding.
I'll arrive in Seattle about 9 a.m. and be met by Scott, my older brother, who is driving over from Spokane. That's about a 300 mile drive, so he'll be leaving in the wee hours of the morning. From their we'll head north to the folks' house, another 45 minutes if traffic isn't a problem.
The only thing on the agenda for Saturday is family pictures at the studio of one of Seattle's better photography studios. It gives us an opportunity to have a good portrait of mom & dad and their three sons. (hmmm - a TV show?) How many more chances will we have for a pic like that? Beyond that we'll just hang out at the house.
Sunday is the big day...at least for mom. If I understand correctly the theme of Pastor Jim's message will be faithfulness in the Lord's service. At the end of the service people will have an opportunity to come up and thank mom for her 45+ years of service to the church at the organ and in the music ministries in general.
My dad has wi-fi at his house but it's security enabled. Because I have this new Mac I'll have to get that password from him, IF he remembers it. If you don't "hear" from me tomorrow night you'll know he doesn't.
OK, I gotta finish packing and take care of other things in anticipation of being gone for almost a week.
