This has been unofficially designated "Old People Week" here at Vagabond Thoughts. Here the first installment.
I don't have time to write this post, but I'm doing it anyway. Mr. Murphy has been chained to my wrist for the last 24 hours, and each task completed seems to bring two things gone wrong and need fixing.
Last night, after we got home from watching the Super Bowl (heavy sigh) at Josh & Aubri's I lost a large chunk of a lower left tooth. I have an appointment at the dentist Wednesday morning to see what comes next. I think this tooth was already designated for pulling with a bridge in its place. I hope so, because there can't possible be enough tooth left to do anything with.
I ran some errands in Gerta this morning, including over to the dentist's office. On the way home a guy honked at me and then mouthed that I have no brake lights. I've checked, and the bulbs and fuses are all good. And the turn signals work. That means I have an electrical problem somewhere. So this afternoon I got a voltmeter so I can start tracking it down. Can't safely drive her until I get this fixed.
I have 10 kitchen drawers out in the garage in various stages of gluing, clamping and assembly. My folks arrive Thursday and the consensus at our house is that it would be really nice if we had kitchen drawers actually in the kitchen.
Tomorrow morning I'm going into town to fix a leak under the sink at a rental. I don't know if it's a drain leak or a supply/faucet leak. Guess I'll find out when I get there. I'm rooting for a drain leak because those are a LOT easier to fix. So...anybody want to make a prediction?

I promised a report on Sunday's sermon. Don't know why I did that. If you want to listen, it's on our church web site. In 1 Tim. 2:9-15 Paul gives instruction on women - how they should dress and their proper role in the local church. A lot of controversy swirling around that topic the last two or three decades. And as with the matter of homosexuality, there has been a lot of creative exegesis of the relevant passages. A person could easily get the impression those passages were ambiguous or somehow tricky. Uhm, not so much. Pretty straightforward, actually.
Anyway, time to move on to the next section - elders, who they are and what they do.
I have more in my head. Read some interesting articles today. But I also have drawers out in the garage that need attention. I've got four more to get glued up before bedtime. Normally I'd stay here to do some work on the laptop while I watched "Chuck" but either I bore easily or this show has dropped WAY off.
