I think I've figured out why eating healthy helps you lose weight. The food tastes so bland nobody wants to eat much of it.
I'm getting back into the running very slowly hoping to prevent a repeat of the injury. But I want to get a good dose of exercise each day - more than I can get out of my limited running mileage. So again today after going for a short run I went for a vigorous bike ride. Beautiful sunny day, with temps near 80. In fact, I thought about running sans shirt, but didn't want to give any of the women here in Sun City heart palpitations.
Friday Tiger Woods will make his first public statement since Thanksgiving's crash and his subsequent burn. But ever the control freak, it will be by invitation only for friends and carefully chosen members of the press. No questions, and only one camera providing a feed for news outlets.
Prepare for an endless supply of pun-laden headlines from news and sports media reporting on this. I've already seen "Tiger coming out of the woods." It only goes downhill from here.

My folks are safely back home in Seattle. The house seems too quiet and I think Al is bummed, too.
At the airport my dad said he was glad they got to spend time with our kids and grandkids. Me too! Realistically there may not be another opportunity for Megan and Caedon to see their great-grandparents, so this was an important visit. I hope they'll remember them. Only God knows the future, and both mom & dad may live another decade. But will their grandkids see them again?

We used curb-side check in and the guy was very helpful. He called and got two wheelchairs, and those two airport employees were also very good. In fact, I can't imagine anyone taking better care of my parents than this man and woman. The gal got me a pass that allowed me to go through security and accompany them to the gate. They then helped my folks through the security check, doing things like taking off, and then putting back on their shoes so my folks didn't have to get out of their wheelchairs. Outstanding!
But can you tell me why in the name of all that is reasonable the TSA has to do a complete pat-down check on a 90-pound, 87-year old woman so crippled with arthritis that she can't walk 20 feet in under 30 minutes? I don't fault the TSA employees at the airport; they're just following instructions. But some clueless bureaucrat behind a desk somewhere needs a window where his navel is.
