All evidence indicates the human race is selectively breeding itself for stupidity.

This is definitely not Chamber of Commerce weather. Tonight's low will be 87 here in Sun City (low 90's in town) and tomorrow's high will hit 110. The 20% chance of rain comes as a result of monsoon humidity. Tomorrow's long ride will be a tough one.

Clint Eastwood movie marathon on AMC beginning tomorrow. Only his tough guy flicks. Must see TV.

You know about Fathead? They make those life-size vinyl images of professional athletes that stick on a wall. The company is located in Ohio, and owned by the same guy who owns the Cavaliers (Dan Gilbert). Which explains why the LeBron James fathead has gone from it's normal price of $99 to a sale price of $17.41. Why that odd price?
It's the year Benedict Arnold was born.

I had to go into town this afternoon (in this case "town" means driving 15 miles south into the west valley where our church is located) and that involves driving down Dysart and Litchfield, past Luke Air Force Base. On the way in I watched an F-16 doing a very steep climb right after takeoff. On the way home a group of them were flying touch-and-goes, 8 of them in a big circle. There's something about watching fighter planes that I find thrilling. Some people here complain about the noise but I like it. The sound of freedom.

When the first lawsuits were announced against SB 1070, Arizona's illegal immigrant bill, the Governor started a defense fund to which people could make contributions. The rate of contributions doubled when the Federal Govt. announced they were filing suit and the fund now stands at $50,000. The largest single donation has been $1,000 and most of them are under $100. About half come from out of state.

Distinguishing between self-generated enthusiasm and divine unction is tricky. But something's at work re. Sunday's sermon.
