Now you know the rest of the story. No post last night. By the time I got to my computer my brain was fried.
For some stupid reason I was awake at 3 a.m. Sunday and could NOT get back to sleep. We left our hotel room in Vallejo about 7:30 Sunday morning and drove to the airport in San Fransisco where I dropped Pam off for her flight back to Phoenix. I then drove another 100 miles south to Prunedale and got there in time for the worship service at Grace Community Church where I served as pastor from '76 to '83. I haven't been back to a church service since then. I slipped in the back just as the service was beginning, but afterward I got to connect with some of the people who were there back in the day. It was great to see them, especially Danny & Candy. She's been fighting non-Hodgkins Lymphoma for years but she looks good.
After church I drove 30 minutes east to Bob & Marla's, who used to live in Prunedale but are now out here in Hollister. (Why did they pick this tiny agricultural town out in the valley to put on those T-shirts?) I'm here until tomorrow morning (Tues.). We're having a great time visiting and catching up on all sorts of things. Bob is retired CHP, so there's plenty of discussion fodder there.
Oh, and he as a 400 hp 2009 Vette. We went for a ride yesterday. We went fast. Real, real fast. Faster than I've ever gone before by about 50 mph - and I've gone fast on my motorcycle. We did laundry before leaving Florence, so I could change when we got back to the house.
Seriously fast.

Today is totally unscripted. I'll do some work on stuff for Sunday but mostly we'll just hang here at the house. They have a pool. Some friends from Prunedale are going to stop by. Just taking it easy.
more of a thoughtful nature in the next post. Promise. But I'm still trying to calm down.
