This morning's 40 miles went fine. I'm learning, and today I decided I need to eat more and more often as I ride. Also, I rode with my iPod for the first time, listening to NPR. It was a little unnerving at first but I got used to it and it did help the time go a little faster. Something to think about besides the pavement. And I can still hear cars coming up behind me - not that it makes any difference. It's not like I can see them behind me or could dodge one headed my direction.
The clock came today. I love it! We'll see what Pam thinks when she gets home in an hour or so. Because it's 30" in diameter the minute hand extends out 15" from the center. That means you can see it move with each tick. Mesmerizing.
It weighs 10 lbs.
Worked on my sermon. The outline is pretty straightforward, but as with some others, this one is all about the delivery. How to frame it, present it. And the subject matter is as important as it gets.
OK, enough of that. For the rest of this evening's entertainment we present the following multi-media diversions. I know, it's shallow and inane, but so am I.
First, let's go roof surfing! (FAIL)
Then, a CRANE STORY in pictures.

It seems a car has gone over the edge and into the water. Divers have located the car and attached heavy cables so a crane can lift it out onto dry land.
No, it's OK. The water is draining out nicely. It's just a matter of getting it a little higher and then swinging it over to the pier.
Now we need a BIG crane to get the car and the first crane out of the water. And remember, they're still connected via those first cables. But it's OK because this is a BIG crane and it has BIG outriggers! We're not taking any chances this time!
