When you outsource to China....Woke up to 67 degrees this morning! I waited until almost 7 a.m. to leave on my ride so I wouldn't freeze. I did the 32 miles I was supposed to do yesterday and when I got home was surprised to see I averaged 17.4 mph. Wasn't really trying to push it, so I guess that's a good sign. My legs are a little sore tonight, but that's OK. The next ride is Saturday and the goal is 52 miles, 10 more than last week. It's also longer than I've gone in about a decade, so we'll see how it goes.
This afternoon I helped Cheryle, our realtor friend, preview some homes for Rob & Leslie, friends from MI who plan to relocate here sometime next spring or summer. Of the five houses we looked at only one wasn't somewhere in the foreclosure process, and that one is clearly headed there. Cheryle chose these homes because they fit Rob & Leslie's criteria, not because they're distressed properties. The metro Phoenix housing market is a mess, but there are some great deals out there. Houses that sold for $500,000 three or four years ago are now on the market for half that price. We're talking some pretty nice homes.

Aw, com' on, man. Whether or not you ever really intended to burn a stack of Quran (how do you pluralize that word?) it's pretty obvious now that you were running a publicity stunt. You had your 15 minutes of fame but don't kid yourself; the price was steep. Besides proving yourself a doofus to anyone with a brain, you now had better be lookin' over your shoulder for the next several years. Some crazy with a sense of holy revenge has your name on his list.
It's just this side of 10 p.m. I'm just home from an elder meeting - a good one where we worked issues effectively - and it's time for a piece of pie and nighty-night.
More substance tomorrow night.
(Yeah, you've heard that before.)
