"There's no trick to being a humorist when you have the whole government working for you." - Will Rogers

Timing is everything.

A “Black Ops” model Jeep? Seriously?
We owned a Jeep once, so I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised they named a model after a video game. (Sorry, Sherry. But that Grand Cherokee was almost as bad as our Chevy Vega.)

I heard a sportscaster point out that Manny Pacquaio has now won more matches in the new Dallas stadium than the Cowboys.

Christmas is coming. I know that because I saw my first Chia Pet commercial this morning: “Chia Obama.” The announcer said - I’m not making this up - “show your patriotism with....”

The Crossword clue was “curved arch.” Is there another kind?

I finally got around to taking the giclee print of that page from Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonota" over to Hobby Lobby to have them frame it. I pick out a frame and a mat and they put it all together, including a back and hanging hardware. They do it up fancy and right, and they don't charge anything for their parts and labor. Because they have half-off frames this week I got the whole thing for $32. Score!
(I got a black frame with gold trim and a black mat, very similar to one of the examples on the All Posters site.)

Michael Vick is amazing. How far can he throw a football?

Left at 4 p.m. today for a very brisk 15 miles. The temp was fine - a nice change from even a month ago - but that's too late in the day. Coming back west had me looking into a low sun, making it very difficult to see the flotsam and jetsam in the bike lane. That's especially disconcerting coming down the hill doing 28 mph. But I was pleased with my average speed.

I finished that first e-book over the weekend, so I downloaded two more. Today I started Ivanhoe by Sir Walter Scott. It was free, so if I bail out on it I won't feel bad. The grammar, which is more King James than the King James Bible, is supposed to be tricky. I've done some reading about the conflict between the Normans and Saxons, which I hope will help me keep up with what I've read is a complex plot.

I also downloaded Robin Hood by Howard Pyle. The reviews I read said to get the version with the original illustrations, also done by Pyle. Apparently his illustrations are equal to the text. So I paid 95 cents for that version.

Supper and the rest of MNF...as DWTS commercials allow.
(heavy sigh)
