Last time I did drywall work I decided I was too old to do it. I remember that now, after spending a little over four hours doing drywall work. And because I was cutting out, replacing and mudding drywall ruined from a water heater disaster it was all down by the floor, which is so often at the bottom of a room.
He doesn't get it.
I listened to Pres. Obama's press conference on my iPod while I worked. He said he didn't do a good enough job over the last two years of communicating what he was doing and why, and the unemployment rate is still too high.
He didn't mention the soaring national debt or government overreaching.
I think we understand quite well what's happened since he became president.
So, am I optimistic that the tidal wave of Republicans headed to Washington will turn things around? You betcha! And I'm sure Randy Moss is going to fit in perfectly with the Titans, be the ideal teammate and take them all the way to the Super Bowl.
The Fed has dropped interest rates to just about zero but the economy is still in the doldrums (a great word, BTW). What else can they do to get things rolling again? We're down to almost free money and they still haven't increased economic activity. The Fed is plumb out of strategies.
Well, not exactly.

What's that, you ask?
A: Print more money and dump it into the economy.
But since they can't just deliver it to the banks in big, boxy Brinks trucks the Fed will buy $600 Billion worth of Treasury Bonds. That's like saving your local car dealership by buying 36 Chevys off their lot for $400,000 each and letting them keep the extra cash.
Oh, wait. We did that, too.
Al has gone the way of all flesh but we're still going to the annual picnic Saturday for those who have adopted Greyhounds. They're going to have adoptable dogs there. Guess who thinks we should bring one home.
From last night's post:
The names Floyd and Lloyd rhyme, and involve dropping a doubled consonant whilst adding another consonant to the front. I asked what other name does the same.
A: Helen and Ellen. Coincidentally, they both involve dropping a doubled L.
I thought of another this morning driving into town for that drywall job.
Cloyd.
Believe it or not, Cloyd was part of my college freshman class, as was his twin brother, Boyd.
Now you have one more thing to be thankful for.

That made me actually LOL.
Those tires cost almost $30,000 EACH. (I know this because I have a 3yo boy who is CRAZY about trucks.) You can't drive that truck on the highway. It has to be taken apart and transported to the next site.
You're welcome.
