"For 30 years my mother served nothing but leftovers. The original meal has never been found." - Calvin Trillin

So very many things wrong with this picture.

I read today that the govt. is going to require those backup cameras in all vehicles in a few years. Few things are sadder than a parent who backs over their own small child who was unexpectedly behind their vehicle. How does someone live with that guilt?
I've wondered if/when those tiny cameras will replace side-view mirrors. It seems like they'd provide a better, potentially wider picture and the screen could be on the dash. that way you wouldn't have to turn your head to the side to see what's on your side. And a fiber optics camera wouldn't be affected by snow and ice (or the sun's glare, for those of us who live in Phoenix).

I read an interview in WORLD magazine this afternoon with some guy who's an expert on economics. He talked about economic entropy and the entrepreneur. I didn't understand a bit of it. I think it was probably pretty good, though.

LED, LCD or plasma? I don't think we want to do the Dutch thing, so plasma is out. LCD is cheaper up front but LED uses significantly less energy.
Three DirectTV portals - their web site, a kiosk at Costco and Best Buy - and three different deals. Apples to oranges to kumquats.

Years (and years) ago I did a Sunday evening series on the six most mis-interpreted passages in the Bible. One of them comes up this Sunday morning as we finish our series on the letters to the seven churches in Revelation 2-3.

The internet says the lyrics to the Train song are "If it's Love" - also the song's title. But listen to it and tell me he's not singing, "Here is love..." Which is why, every time I hear it I think of 1 John 4:10. And I'm disappointed that the song isn't about that verse.

Last Monday I called Gospel Light and ordered curriculum for our Sunday School classes (we call the second hour "Foundations") and our children's church, and paid for it with our credit card. I got a reimbursement check from our treasurer. I checked our credit card statement online this morning and there's nothing from Gospel Light so I called. Yes, they have our order in the computer, it has shipped and should arrive next Tuesday. She had no explanation why it doesn't show up on our credit card statement and didn't seem particularly interested in the question.
OK.
So should I give the reimbursement check back?
(I'm assuming their computers are slow.)

With all the pickax and block laying work I haven't been on my bike in two weeks. Or had a golf club in my hands. I plan to rectify one or both tomorrow.
