This baby possum is a hit at a zoo in Germany. They say its condition is probably caused by fat deposits behind the eyes. The young animal has been named Heidi and she has over 9,000 friends on her own Facebook page.

The electric blue similar to what Best Buy uses in their logo is now everywhere - news and sports sets, print ad material, everywhere but on the radio. Somebody somewhere seems to have decided that color implies high tech, new and cutting edge. Did Best Buy just get lucky or did they set the pattern others are consciously following?

I had blood drawn this morning. I got to the lab 20 minutes before it opened at 7 a.m. and was still third in line. I got called back at 7:55. Am I the only one who thinks there’s something wrong with this picture?

After a quick breakfast (I’d fasted for 12 hours and was HUNGRY!) I went to the eye dr. for my annual exam, which was more like an 18-month exam. I chose a new dr. because I wasn’t happy with my prior provider. Never felt completely comfortable with an office that does eye exams and botox injections. The change was the right move. I wasn’t just imagining the bad spot on the right lens I’ve been looking through for the last year and a half (I complained about it when I got them but was told there wasn’t any defect). And the left lens kept popping out because it was too small for the frame.
Those eye drops that dilate your eyes are nasty!

I wanna go back to Saturday and have a do-over for Sunday. Grrrrrr.

The guy is crazy. If there’s anything clear at this point it’s that he’s a whacko, probably schizophrenic. No legitimate case can be made that his horrible act of violence has anything to do with the tone of political debate in this country or the accessibility of guns in AZ or anywhere else. He obtained his gun legally because he’d never been diagnosed or treated for mental illness. He was, at least legally, as sane as your brother-in-law. Christ said, “The poor will be with you always.” The same can be said about the severely mentally ill. A very, very, VERY small number of them do something violent like this. A cursory look through history will show that’s always been the case, including attacking public figures. Whatever changes need to be made in the areas of political discourse or gun laws should be made on the basis of sound, logical arguments, not the crazed act of a seriously disturbed young man.

I'm a weenie when it comes to spicy food. Pam made enchiladas for dinner and they were very good, but I needed water after almost every bite. She says they weren't all that hot and I think she's right. I was raised on good Swedish cooking where the only spices are cardamon and sugar.
