Who gets out to change this flat?
Whew! Long week with two many late nights. Wednesday night was our elder meeting, Thursday night was dinner at the Barker's and then over to Josh and Aubri's for some emergency kitchen faucet repair. Tonight we had our semi-annual men's poker night over at Reid's. (Shirley was out somewhere.) I left before the trophy was captured because I was well out of the running and dying on the vine.
Tomorrow I have to do more kitchen plumbing work at a rental. All I know at this point is that there's water coming out underneath the sink. Supply lines? Drain pipes? Garbage disposal? I'll find out when I get there in the morning.
Gerta has moved past the auction reserve on eBay with 3 days, 11 hours left. I'm cautiously optimistic that in the final hours of the auction the price will rise further. No matter what happens, she's sold and will be moving out soon. Sniff, sniff.
The master bedroom is almost done. I wasn't happy with the ceiling so I put another application of mud on the repaired area and that made all the difference. So now the ceiling is done, the walls painted (2 coats) and as of 11:00 a.m. today the laminate flooring down. The only thing left is painting and installing all new molding - baseboard, shoe molding and door trim. I hope to have it all done when Pam gets home Tuesday morning but it's going to be tight with tomorrow's work at the rental and Sunday responsibilities. Oh yeah, I also have a TON of cleaning to do. The chop saw filled the back end of the house with dust from the laminate flooring and it also spread to some areas in the front of the house. Plus, working on the room in between the week's other activities means I've got little messes everywhere to clean up. But I'm happy with the way the bedroom is turning out and I think Pam will be, too.
The question posed on FB is whether our federal legislators should get paid if the govt. gets shut down. I move we pay them to stay home and fine them if they come to work.
Hey! I figured out why I paid $17 for my last haircut.
After she'd been cutting away for awhile she neared the crown of my head. I told her if she cut it too short the three (!) cowlicks I have there would leave me looking like Alfalfa from Lil' Rascals.
"Yeah, I noticed the cowlicks."
I told her my wife had pointed out the problem so I usually hit it with a shot of hair spray while my hair is still wet to avoid that rooster tail.
When she was done she sprayed my hair.
= $3.
That's a lot of money for three spritzes if liquid glue. And from now on I'm keeping my mouth shut!
Rode the bike up Sun Valley Parkway with Shon this afternoon, into a stiff headwind. Hard work, but coming back was a breeze.
OK, I realize this is a lame post but I couldn't go two consecutive nights without something. So now I'm going to bed.
