Pathway doesn't have the horses to pull of the production service. So rather than try to, and look silly in the process, we focus on being who we are. That applies to Easter, too. So we sang good songs, heard Scripture speak, and explored the gifts God gave us through the resurrection of Christ. Nothing special except the occasion, and the critical opportunity to share the good news with those yet to accept it.
I have no problem with the special service or the churches that can make it work. But I admit there's something in me that likes a lack of adornment, whether it's Craftsman architecture or Easter services. There's always the risk that the medium gets in the way of the message.
How in the world did I collect that many socks??
We've had a hodge-podge of dressers (what's the difference between a dresser and a chest of drawers? 'cause these may have been the latter). We picked them up at garage sales for what we knew was a temporary situation until we got around to redoing the bedroom. Four of them across one wall of the bedroom, each with four drawers but each a different style and color. Now that we have matching dressers from Ikea, an 8-drawer and 4-drawer, we have to reorganize our clothes into the new setup. During that process I discovered I have enough socks to take care every person on the Arizona Diamondbacks, including the coaching staff.
Not anymore.
I'm getting impatient to begin work on Ilsa. We have our garage sale this Thursday to clear up space and get rid of the old bedroom stuff, and in preparation I'm pulling things out of cupboards and shelves and putting it on the garage floor. We also have the electric cart out there, but the plan is to have it sold in a week. We're doing a silent auction with sealed bids submitted over the next week. The cart will go to the highest bidder, and to the earlier bidder in the case of identical high bids. I hope to get it listed online tomorrow.
Tonight? Typical Sunday night, so I'm done.
Dessert, the rest of the Lakers game, and then bed.
