I'm watching some of the French Open which is on the Tennis Channel very early in the morning here (as in 4 a.m.). With the Williams sisters absent the women's side is pretty much a group of 6' blonds with names that end in -ova.
Please Sarah, say no. We already have a toad named Newt and chameleon named Mitt. Besides, Tina Fey has too much on her plate already.
While we're on the topic, it seems silly to announce the date when you're going to announce your candidacy. Isn't that like publishing "secret" documents? The word oxymoronic comes to mind on several levels.
The world is filled with sin on every side. The Bible tells us that until the final redemption we should expect evil to hold sway. Which is why I give the Miami Heat at least even odds to win the championship.

Sunday afternoon I'll take Ilsa's body out to Tonopah and the guy who's going to do the painting. As you can see, she's stripped bare inside and out. This morning I discovered that carb cleaner makes an effective solvent for the adhesive the Germans used 50 years ago to glue down the carpet.
This afternoon I took the wheels over to Discount Tire and had them remove the old and rotted tires. VW wheels of this vintage are called "smoothies" as opposed to the slotted wheels of later years and are painted two colors. The outer section is off-white and the inner section is the color of the car. In the center is the distinctive VW hubcap. I needed to get the tires off so the wheels can be painted before new tires go on.So far it's been pretty much all labor and there's still some of that as I strip and clean the pan and frame. But pretty quickly here I'm going to be buying parts for the rebuild, never mind the cost of the paint job.
This is the part I don't think Pam fully understands.
I can't remember ever saying the Lord's Prayer growing up. The church I went to correctly understands the dispensational distinctive of Paul's ministry as God set his special relationship with Israel aside and began dealing with Jew and Gentile without distinction. Christ's earthly ministry in the Gospels and the early chapters of Acts (viz. 1-8) take place within the context of God's dealings with the Jews above all other people, dealings that will some day climax with Christ's reign over all the earth from Jerusalem in what's known as the Millennial Kingdom. As members of the Body of Christ we look forward to the Rapture, a very different event in almost every sense.
That's why we never said the Lord's Prayer. It belonged to God's dealings with Israel. Hey, the second line is, "Thy kingdom come." Right?
(Shhh. Our song leader at the time wouldn't even pick a song that had the word "kingdom" in it.)
This Sunday at Pathway we'll begin a series on the Lord's Prayer. I'm really looking forward to it. I don't think the prayer is either irrelevant or inappropriate for this dispensation. To be sure, there are a couple of places where an understanding of it's dispensational locus is relevant to a correct interpretation, but the vast majority of its content is both fully true and applicable for God's people at any time and in any dispensation.
We're even going t recite it a few times through this series.
At this point the pastor of my youth would be rolling over in his grave were he there and not in the Lord's presence. Because he is in fact in the Lord's presence I think I just heard him say, "Preach it, brother, preach it!"

At a funeral for a patient this week the guy who lead the service asked the group to recite the Lord's Prayer. The group of 20 people stumbled through reciting it. It was not exactly the best time to ask a group of mostly non-christians to recite scripture.
