"There is nothing so useless as doing efficiently that which should not be done at all." - Peter Drucker

This is a short post that I'm actually writing late afternoon. I have a dinner appt. and from there to an elder meeting that will have me home sometime around 9:30, very close to the time I'm normally crawling into bed.

For anyone who didn't see it in my Facebook post here's a short video I made about Ilsa. I made it a couple of weeks ago and went to post it Monday, then read You Tube's warning about using anything that was copyrighted material. It occurred to me that the background music I'd chosen - Three Little Birds, by Bob Marley - probably violated that stipulation. So when I couldn't sleep this morning at 3:00 in the a.m. I did an internet search for "Public Domain music free download" and came up with this song. It seemed particularly appropriate.

If you'd rather watch it on You Tube you can see it here: Restoration Project

iMovie is, like most Mac software, pretty intuitive. I had a learning curve but it wasn't all that steep, and the next project will go much faster.

One advantage to being a small and relatively new church is that we can do things outside the norm without endless hoops and hassles. We barely have a norm. (Actually, we don't have any. We do have a Lyle, however.) I appreciate the freedom to come up with an idea, ask a few affected people if they're OK with shifting things around, get complete buy-in and then go with it. And all of that two weeks before.

In the spirit of accuracy I should say that we also don't have any affected people either. I once pastored a church in which we actually counted and discovered that 10% of the people were taking psycho-therapeutic drugs. Except for that one guy who was supposed to be but stopped. Yeah, he was a problem. Surprisingly, most of the rest of them did just fine. Modern medicine.

For reasons we can't figure out Jack will stop eating for a period of time, then just as inexplicably start back up again. Aside from an even higher amount of flatulence (Greyhounds are known for that to begin with) he seems fine. But it's times like this I wish he wasn't so attached to me. I really don't need him sleeping at my feet when this happens.

I need to walk Jack now so I'm back in time to head to my dinner appt. Pam is going out too, to have dinner with Steve & Michelle. We were all going to go out for dinner Sunday night in honor of Mother's Day but Steve got sick and had to cancel. So tonight is their make-up meal.
They're doing Chipotle and I'm doing Culver's. Good food all around.

What did you use to make that video? That's really good.

iMovie, which comes loaded on a Mac. Very intuitive program. It will do lots more, I just need to learn it.

Oh, I just looked and we've got that. I had no idea. LOL I should play with it and see what it can do!
