I have not lost my mind - it's backed up on disk somewhere.
Have I mentioned how much I dislike Sunday nights? Especially when what was in my heart and in my head did not come out of my mouth. Grrrr.
The ladies of Pathway had a baby shower over at Josh and Aubri's this afternoon. We have two expectant moms nearing the end of their pregnancies. I love that we're getting new babies at church both because it's nice to have babies and because we have a church of (primarily) young adults.
I've got nothing against older Christians. (I think I am one.) Every church needs them for their model of faithfulness and service over decades. They bring a level of spiritual maturity and wisdom and steadiness. A church of primarily seniors is every bit as legitimate as a congregation of sub-30's, especially in a culture like ours - so caught in transition.
What I like about the demographic at Pathway is what it says about the future of the Bible church. Conventional wisdom says younger believers don't want significant content, don't want Bible teaching. They're supposed to be all about shallow story-sermons that send them away feeling positive about themselves and energized for the week ahead. Pathway Bible Church is Exhibit A to the contrary. The preecher is very often disappointed in his administration of God's Word on a Sunday morning but to their credit they come back next week for another meal.
Worked in the garage this afternoon as therapy. Ready for rust encapsulating paint tomorrow. This stuff is a little scary. The directions say do NOT paint out of the can. Even with a quart it dries so fast that you'll waste most of the can. Do NOT put the lid back on the can without some plastic wrap in between. It dries so hard so fast that you'll never get the lid back off. Do NOT get any foreign material in the can. The chemical formulation is so precise and unstable that if you're perspiring and a drop of sweat gets into the can... ruined.
And it ain't cheap!
Busy day tomorrow that will go late. Don't know if I'll be here or not, so if you don't see a post it's because I got home late and crashed.
