Once the game is over, the king and the pawn go back in the same box. - Italian Proverb

OK, this is impressive. But why is she wearing spikes?

I've been doing this exercise routine Josh created every M,W,F for two and a half weeks. Why does it still hurt like the first day? I thought at some point it was either supposed to get easier or hurt less or both.

Isner and Roddick both out at the U.S. Open. Bummer.
Speaking of, I'm up against Jeff this week in our fantasy football league and he has Aaron Rogers as his QB. We're not even to the weekend yet and I've already lost.
The Formula 1 circuit is at Monza this weekend. The DVR is set.

Have you ever been in a worship service where the music was so moving that before the sermon even started you thought, "We could go home right now?" I've had that experience, and it wasn't even because I knew I had a lousy sermon.
If you know me you know I'm all about the power of the Word to change lives. It is God's modus operandi for bringing us into conformity with his will for our lives (see 2 Tim. 3:16-17). And I'm a teacher to my core. But I realized yesterday that not every service needs a 35-minute sermon. Some services may be ill served by the traditional message. I think this Sunday is one of those. Powerful music, communion.... Oh, we'll still open the Bible and hear God speak, but we're going to let him do most of the talking.

I screwed up on Ilsa. I've been wire-wheeling all the tin and then painting it with "Chassis Black" which is a gloss black designed for these applications. I took to the air cleaner this morning with that wire wheel - it was covered in gunk - only to discover it's made of aluminum, not the same sheet metal as the tin. Major scratches in the metal. So this afternoon I bought various grits of automotive sandpaper which I will use to get that smooth again and then paint.
Doofus.

How many people remember oil bath air cleaners? Why did they ever discontinue them? They catch the little particles just as efficiently, don't have to be replaced and restrict airflow less than a paper filter.

Only in the desert southwest would the local weatherman say, with a straight face, "Temps are going to be about 100 all next week. Fall is just around the corner."

Have I mentioned how proud I am of the adults at Pathway? They're taking notes in class, doing their homework and turning it in for grading and taking quizzes. Soon their first exam. All this because they're serious about learning God's Word. We're having fun!

Be careful, aluminum dust is highly flammable and has been known to cause explosions. Just do that sanding by hand and you should be fine.

There is a company that still makes the air filter you are talking about. K&N filters. When they get dirty you wash them with soap and water. Re-oil them with light weight oil and you are good to go.

I'm familiar with the K&N filter, but that's not what I'm talking about. (You must be young.) An oil bath filter is what's in the picture. The top comes off and you pour about an inch of medium weight oil in the bottom. The way it's constructed the air enters through the horn, is channeled down over the surface of the oil which grabs any particles, and then it proceeds into the carb. I should find a cut-away somewhere. Change the oil once a year and you're good.
