"When buying and selling are controlled by legislation, the first things to be bought and sold are legislators." - P.J. O'Rourke

I understand that it's breast cancer awareness month, but something about 300 lb. linemen wearing pink just seems wrong.

If the Arizona Cardinals continue to play this poorly they could get the first pick in the draft. That would give them a chance to draft a Heisman Trophy winning quarterback out of the State of California. 'cause that worked so well last time.

Pat called yesterday afternoon to tell me the wheels weren't painted and ready for pickup today. Bummer. He said he'll have them done by next weekend. A month ago he told me the body would be done by the end of October but at this point that ain't gonna happen, either. Which is too bad because I have done almost everything I can without the body. I may be at a standstill for a month or more. What am I going to do with myself??

Paul McCartney got married again today; wife number three. But this marriage should go a lot better. Wealthy in her own right, the bride told him she can stand on her own two feet.

We went to Carl's Jr. after church and Pam ordered me some burger with BACON. The gal behind the counter said, "Those are on sale today." Who ever heard of fast food joints having sales??

This is just fun.

How does one define a cult? That turns out to be an interesting and relevant question these days, given the current Republican field. Some online dictionaries list several definitions, none of which have any negative connotation. Others have definitions that include words like "spurious" or "extremist." Dr. Walter Martin (d. 1989) was generally recognized as a biblical scholar and wrote the well-known book "Kingdom of the Cults" which identified Mormonism as a cult - along with Jehovah Witnesses, Scientology and others.

Is a cult defined by heretical theology? Doe is require devious psychological manipulation? A controlling leader who demands complete submission?

I've never seen cows move so much--and I live in WI! That was cute.

(Booooo on the "stand on her own two feet" thing.) Stinker.
