'Veni, Vidi, Velcro' - I came, I saw, I stuck around.

Briefly..
The flight form Phoenix to Seattle via Portland was uneventful. We had to leave for the airport at 4:30 so Pam could get back home and to work by 7:00, but that's a minor inconvenience.

It was warmer in Phx at 4:30 a.m. than it was here in Seattle at 1 p.m. Daily highs here will be in low 60's for the next five days.

On the Portland/Seattle leg I sat next to a gal who also lives in Phoenix and was on that flight, too. She was a talker! But it made the flight pass quickly and her life's story is interesting. Among other things, she was a flight attendant on 9/11. She described the anxiety among those who flew for a living.

On the way from the airport to my folks' place at Ida Culver House I stopped at Dick's and had a hamburger and shake. The nearest thing to In n' Out you'll find. Good food.

I have a Dodge Avenger. I haven't driven it enough to offer my assessment, but I do wonder why it's so difficult to get into the trunk. I finally gave up and through my carry-on bag on the rear seat. There is no key slot on the trunk lid and I looked everywhere for a release inside the car w/o success. I finally realized there's a button on the remote key fob, but apparently that's all. Odd.

The steering wheel has more buttons than a high-end dress shirt, including buttons on the back side that aren't labeled. It didn't seem like a good idea to press them while driving on the freeway so I'll try them later.
In addition to the four cruise control buttons on the right side of the steering wheel there are four buttons on the left that do everything from change the dash display to activate the phone (?). One of them has an icon I can't figure out.
And a 4'x5" touch screen in the dash for the radio. Kinda fun to play with.

For now, we're going to head to the dining room of the rehab unit for dinner. Shortly thereafter I'll drive out to my brother's place for the night. The fun starts tomorrow.

Where the trunk handle or recess is there will be a hidden button around your index finger if you feel around. Hold that button down while the key is in your pocket

No recess or handle. I searched and searched. I'll try again but I think the key fob is the only option.
