Don't hate yourself in the morning - sleep till noon.
Pam made something new for dinner tonight - coconut chicken curry. But because we're both weenies when it comes to spicy food she left out the curry. Instead she substituted some "Asian hot sauce" she had on hand.
FIRE!!!!
And the leftovers are what I'll be eating the next two nights because she'll be working.
I asked if this is one of those dishes that gets spicier as it sits and she doesn't know. So I'll be starting with small bites.
My left hip is now a giant ugly bruise. And still sore. Wish I could remember this crash because it must have been a doozy.
This morning I had a small puddle of transmission fluid on the garage floor. Drat! I tried to figure out where it's coming from based on the spot's location but couldn't. I ran the engine for about 5 minutes so the stop leak can circulate thoroughly and haven't seen any more.
On a related note, I've come to realize that the level of service at O'Reilly's has everything to do with which employee you get. I took the drums in again today and got a guy who's helped me in the past. He's good.
All four drums need replacing. Drat! But as I told him about the transmission issues he took me over and showed me a product new to me. It's a little bottle of bright green liquid that you add to the tranny, or the engine's oil, or a power steering pump, or anything that holds liquid and leaks. Run the car for 5 minutes and then shine a black light on the leaking part. Voila! The liquid lights up and shows where the leak is. Pretty cool!
What if you drank the stuff?
I spent at least three hours this morning on a re-write. That's tedious work, not nearly as fun as the initial blast. Preaching is so much easier. If you say it poorly you can back up and take another run at it. And you can tell by the look on their faces if they understood (or are bored beyond belief). With writing you get no feedback until it's too late.
We recorded all three segments of "Hatfields and McCoys" to watch when it was convenient. Tonight we started on the first segment - and gave up after about the first hour. Why did everyone think it was so wonderful?? Old people here walk faster than that plot developed. And they're easier to understand. Cranking up the volume doesn't fix mumbling. Yeah, I know. It takes place in the South and that's the way they talked there and then. But when historical accuracy means we can't understand what they're saying, what's the point?
We just freed up about eight hours.
I love my job. I love the sheep whom God allows me to tend. I like working on old cars, riding a bicycle, and burpees (when they're done). But nothing compares to the privilege of working with and for people.
They're the best part.

Craig,
What is the name of that bright green liquid? I need to try it.
John
I don't remember from being in the store. He just showed me where it is on the shelf. But after looking at the O'Reilly site online it's one of the Tracer products. I think it's their "all in one" version.
