"Conscience is what makes a boy tell his mother before his sister does." - Evan Esar
USAToday.com headline: "Hollywood Reacts to Paul Ryan VP Pick"
And I care about their reaction because...?
A close second for irrelevance: "Jennifer Anniston is engaged."
By 5 a.m. I had the sermon sound file edited and posted, the news checked, several chapters of Playing for Pizza read, and two cups of coffee down. What's wrong with this picture?
I finished Playing for Pizza today. Yep, good story, very unlike any Grisham novel I've read before.
I like this video morph of the Queen. The commercial at the front allows you to "Skip Ad" part way in and go directly to the video.
I've never seen her smile that much.
I went to the gym this afternoon. Cabin fever, and I needed to move. Just did 22 minutes of light spinning on an exercise bike but it felt good and justifies seconds on dessert tonight.
Hit 118 this afternoon.
I read a Slate article this morning that called Ryan the head of the Republican ticket...and Romney the body. I agree. To date Romney has been the candidate for the ABO people (Anybody But Obama). Facebook is loaded with 'em. But aside from criticizing the President's performance I don't know what he stands for except the standard Republican "less govt." mantra. Ryan has a plan, and a pretty sophisticated one at that.
What I don't get is the pundits questioning whether or not the choice of Ryan puts Florida in jeopardy for the Republicans because of Ryan's proposed revisions of Medicaid. His plan doesn't touch the program for anyone currently 55 or older. So how does it threaten "seniors" as the Dems proclaim? Why would the grey hairs in Florida get all worked up over something that has no effect on them? And for people below 55 they're given the option of a govt. program or a voucher for a private insurance.
Note: this is why I immediately pitch any mail that comes with an AARP logo. Their lobbying efforts are self-serving (not country serving) and they are just as guilty of manipulating the facts as any pol.
The debate between the Vice President candidates should be great sport!
If you've ever wondered where a pacemaker goes, it's just below the left collar bone, at exactly the spot where a shoulder belt crosses. Ouch!
