"The most wasted of all days is one without laughter." - ee cummings

Re. the quote at the top, one of my favorite things about Pathway is that we laugh a lot. It would be an extremely unusual Sunday that didn't include several good laughs. One of the key reasons: people don't take themselves too seriously. When you don't have to worry about offending someone it's easy to relax and have fun.

Football is back. Once again we have reason for hope in this bleak world.
And over in MLB the D'backs, whom I resolved to follow this year, have been hanging right at 5 games back for weeks. ESPN.com gives them a 24% chance of making the playoffs.

I understand that some people aren't critical thinkers, and that's just fine IMO. They feel deeply, are get 'er done people, or just have way too much stuff going on in life to spend time in analytical thought. I suspect that if everyone was a critical, analytical thinker we'd all feel feel lonely and go hungry.
What drives me bonkers is people who claim to be analytical, criticize the shallow mental work of people who don't see it like they do, but quickly stop thinking when doing so might require them to see things differently from the viewpoint they've been advocating. Often they see themselves as the thoughtful and enlightened minority. Mostly, they're like the people they criticize, just better at it.
(I've been in conversation lately....)

The Italian alphabet only has 21 letters. They don't have j,k,w,x or y. So if you're name is Jack Waxy don't move to Bologna.

The networks, broadcast and cable, are pushing several new TV series to begin in the fall. Based on the promos they seem to be take-offs on Hunger Games and/or dark dramas set in an earlier era. By dark I mean both in terms of the subject matter and cinematography.
We like watching NCIS reruns. Always deals with a crime but most of the scenes take place during the day and the main characters laugh from time to time and dish out some good natured teasing.

I've come to realize I'm a fixer. Old houses, cars, churches...
What bothers me is when I really want to fix something and can't.
I really, really want to fix the problems of some very good and important people. But all I can do is pray for them. So I try to be very faithful at that.
And he has promised to take perfect care of them, so I guess it's all good.

Steven Tyler is one weird lookin' guy. Is that plastic surgery?
