"Those are my principles, and if you don't like them... well, I have others." - Groucho Marx
But wait! There's more!
Today while we were doing chores we had the women's Olympic championship basketball game on and watched the American team win gold by defeating France. After some interviews with players they had the medal ceremony. We were away to commercials while the Australians received their bronze medals but watched the French receive their silver medals and bouquets. They were thrilled. Then, just as the American women were to receive their gold medals....
Blip!
And we were watching "Noodles and Doodles," an NBC network program for children.
Never mind that NBC's own schedule had Olympic coverage continuing for another hour, we got cheesy kids' programming.
Can you spell Heidi??
As a fiscal conservative who despairs over the growing attitude of entitlement pervasive in our country I like the selection of Paul Ryan as Romney's running mate. Now, is there a way we can make it Ryan/Romney?
As I type this they're telling us about another haboob which is right now moving over the Loop 101 about 5 miles west of us. Another 20 minutes or so...
I am blessed to have an excellent group of guys serving with me as elders at Pathway.
I liked Sports Illustrated's headline about the Dwight Howard move to the Lakers:
"To the Spoiled Go the Riches"
I'm getting robo calls on my cell phone. I mentioned earlier that I've hung up on Sarah Palin and and AZ governor Jan Brewer. Today it was my great joy to hang up on Sheriff Joe Arapaio. I wish there was some way to let him know.
I finished "Fiddler's Green" a few days ago. Recommend the two-book series. Now I'm reading "Playing for Pizza" by John Grisham. I checked it out of our library as a book on CD's for our vacation but the player in the Kia decided that spitting CD's out on demand didn't fit with its life's purpose. After getting the first of 13 CD's out - it took about two dozen tries - I decided against putting another one in. So, I downloaded it to my Kindle, speed read through the chapters that were on the first CD and have settled in to the rest of it. Not the typical Grisham, not a murder mystery. At least not so far, and I'm about 30% into it. Should have at least three dead bodies by now.
Need to get things together for tomorrow and what I have in my head will take more time and space than I have here tonight.
Stay tuned.
