"Slot machines are like crack for old people." - Keenan Ivory Wayans

Does he know what just happened? He will very soon!

I watch a lot of sports related TV and I've seen players and coaches go on rants. I've seen players and coaches say some really funny stuff. But I've never seen a player or a coach go on a rant that's this funny. And this video isn't all of it. The article below the video has more.

Kurt Warner and his wife Brenda are a CLASS act! They are still doing great work in the Phoenix area, including building and furnishing houses for needy families through their foundation, "First Things First." Go read their one-sentence statement at the top of that page, and the blurb at the bottom. Today they turned over the keys to two furnished houses.

I record "Meet the Press" and didn't get around to watching Sunday's program until lunch today. One of the topics was NSA snooping, and the official being interviewed was firm and insistent that nothing illegal had been done. He said people may think they're doing too much, but that's a separate issue. The balance between security and privacy is a legitimate debate, but Congress approved, the President signed, and the courts validated the status quo.
I still can't decide where I am on the security/privacy spectrum. Orwell had a point, but we live in a post-9/11 world.

If you get BBCAmerica watch Man Lab. Fun and educational. It's in the third season and has gotten progressively better each year.

I put less than 100 miles on the VW before I took the rear deck lid in for repair/repaint Monday and I already miss driving it. Its most important feature is the third pedal. People ask if I'll keep it or sell it. I don't know, but if I do sell, the replacement will have a third pedal!

Last Christmas sermon of the year this Sunday.
Can I get an "amen!"
One of the things we've talked about this month at Pathway is the gap between the simple biblical nativity narrative and all the details that have been filled in through legend, poorly written carols, and Christmas card pictures. One result is to make me even more attentive to all the Christmas bogocity out there. One of the classic carols we'll sing this Sunday has the star of magi fame present for the shepherds months and months earlier.
Whatcha gonna do?
