"A husband is what's left of a lover after the nerve has been extracted." - Helen Rowland

Bomb squad practical joker.

(I'm not sure what that quote up there means, but I think it's not exactly a compliment to husbands.)

Note: this post was written in installments of a paragraph or two over the course of the day. I'm going to the second half of that class tonight and will be gone during my normal posting time, so this was the best way to get 'er done.

I mentioned a couple of weeks ago that Josh gave me this schedule for dramatically increasing the number of pull ups you can do. It's a 3-month regimen, and the first month you spend just doing pull ups throughout the day, building a base. The guy who wrote up the regimen says your only goal in month one should be to do more than you did the day before. I installed a bar out in the garage and try to go out to do a set every hour on the hour when I'm home. I started out doing sets of three and am now up to sets of seven. By day's end I should have 11 sets in. I hope to be at 100 per day by the time I move into month two.
Then it gets challenging. Ladders.

Class last night was OUTSTANDING. I learned a ton, and it was all hands-on. This guy is a good teacher in every respect. Only four of us in the class (eight signed up) so it's a great learning environment. Going in I wasn't sure about the value but I got far more than my money's worth. And there's no question that I'll be taking the next two courses in the series (each also two nights @ three hours a piece).
Learning is fun, especially learning practical stuff way outside your existing knowledge base. I told him, "This feels like learning magic."

Yesterday as I was driving the Falcon on the freeway - in the far right lane - I was aware of a big box truck that came up on my left and then stayed there. I looked up and saw a guy in the passenger seat taking a picture of my car with his cell phone.

Because of work associated with this online teaching gig - learning the software and preparing some documents - I've worked ahead on Sunday's stuff, and have my sermon "written." Doesn't feel right at all, having it done this early. Too much time to think about it.

Just back from the gym. Time for a shower, some dinner, and off to class. I'm beat, but still looking forward to tonight's content.
