"Retirement at 65 is ridiculous. When I was 65 I still had pimples." - George Burns

The root canal is done. He said I had "significant infection" in all three roots (I thought there were only two), and that it had been that way for long enough the calcification had set in. Apparently that's when the body tries to cover over the infection, and it takes special chemicals and methods to break through so the infection can be cleaned out. (Read: add more money.)

He sent me home with antibiotics, and it turns out that wasn't just a precaution. Within an hour I started feeling LOUSY, slept all afternoon, ache, and have a low-grade fever. So I'm counting on those antibiotics kicking in real soon, preferably before morning. Too much work to do before Sunday, and I lost all day today.

We got some bad news yesterday from the CPA who does our taxes. So I've listed the VW on TheSamba.com, the huge forum all things classic VW. In just over 24 hours I've had 652 views but so far no serious inquiries. I decided awhile ago to sell it, mostly to clear room in the garage and have the funds for the truck restoration (it won't take nearly that much). This tax news just moved it up a bit on the timetable.

I feel cruddy. I'm going to have me a cup of coffee, a pill, and a long night's sleep.
